A Deep Dive into Character Perspectives
Accomplice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer may actually be my favorite book in this series so far. I absolutely loved having so many different points of view. Multiple character perspectives can be hit or miss, especially if you don't connect with all the characters. However, I genuinely enjoyed reading this story from everyone's perspective.
This book is very character-driven. Each character, or even frog, has their own distinct personality. The plot was fast-paced, fun, heartfelt, and emotional. I really appreciated that we got more backstories of the parents, which helped make the story more well-rounded.
Kingsley's Engaging Journey
Kingsley continues to be incredibly engaging, even as a frog! I'm thrilled that we received so much more content surrounding him. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. That epilogue—oh my goodness!
Evie and Trystan in this book were chef's kisses. The slow burn finally paid off more and more towards the end, which was so satisfying.
The Found Family Trope
The other characters were just as engaging and delightful to read about. The entire found family trope is hands down one of my favorites. It adds depth and warmth to the story.
Reversal of Archetypes
The fairy tale elements, or rather the reversal of archetypes, were also something I appreciated. Evie is anything but a damsel in distress; she kicks ass and takes names. I'm so excited to see where the next book takes her.
Conclusion: A Stellar Read
Overall, if I could give this book 10 stars, I would. So, 5 will have to do. This captivating journey through multiple perspectives kept me hooked from start to finish. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and emotional read.
