This was such an unexpected read for me. I knew nothing about Kelly Bishop other than her role of Emily Gilmore, and if I'm honest I wasn't a fan of that character. This memoir has not only changed my view of that character, but opened up my eyes to the wonderfully brilliant Kelly Bishop. I had no idea of the life she lived before, during, and after her time on Gilmore Girls. I felt compelled to look up all these moments she referenced and remain in awe of her candor about her life's hardships, her mistakes, her greatest loves, and everything in between.
The audiobook version, read by Kelly herself, was inspiring to say the least. Her openness to letting the universe guide her through every step of her life, her strength and tenacity to achieve all that she achieved, and her continued zest for life. She really is the epitome of 'if its meant to be, it will be.'
I close this audiobook with a new favorite person in mind, who I believe remains grounded enough in her successes that it felt we were sitting together over a cup of coffee as she shared her life story with me.
I recommend this book to everyone who has a passion and desire to achieve big things in their lives.
